A Counting Story and Blog Party

by | Apr 1, 2011 | 4 yr old | 14 comments

Today I’m just sharing a cute story about Cutie Pie that his Nana relayed to me. I was just tickled to learn he could count objects from memory! If you are joining me from the Blog Party, welcome and feel free to poke around and maybe stay a while!

Cutie Pie has been spending a few hours a week with my mother-in-law while Sweet Pea and I are at gymnastics (I’ll tell you about that another time) and they usually drive somewhere. This week while coming back from an outing at the library Nana was playing a counting game with him. She was asking questions like “How many beds are in your house?” and “How many windows are in your bedroom?” Cutie Pie was actually giving correct answers! I’m thinking this is pretty good for a four year old, or at least pretty average! It never occurred to me to see if Cutie Pie could think in this manner and he seemed to love it!

I’m so happy my boys get to spend time with their Nana doing fun things, spending quality time together!

Cutie Pie, my little partier!

I sometimes share my Wordless Wednesday pics on 5 Minutes for Mom. April 1 through April 8 they are hosting The Ultimate Blog Party! Click on the button below to check it out, find some interesting blogs and maybe even win a prize!

I’d say that’s good counting. I’m not sure I’d know how many windows are in my house. I applaud you for allowing Nana to enjoy your son. As a Mawmaw, I know what it means to have time to cherish and enjoy the grandblessings. Some mothers seem to see it as a threat, but to me children need the nurturing a grandparent gives. So thankful my daughter sees it the same way.

    I’m a new GFC follower.

Hope your day is fun with a special surprise tucked in!

    Blessings,
    Pamela

I am also the only girl in the house – one husband and two boys under two. We used to have girl dogs, but one died and one we could not keep. I look forward to reading more of your blog.

Boys are messy, aren’t they?! “Mom is the only Girl” is my reality, too! Oh how I ache for a baby girl, but I got 2 boys and I love them to pieces!

A milestone like that of your Cutie Pie’s is always share-and-blog-worthy! I also have a 4-year old, and most of the time I wonder how he learns and knows stuffs … it is fun, most of the time! 😉

Stopping by from the UBP. So nice to meet you. My son had one of those funky cool microphones that “Cutie Pie” is playing with in your picture. Those were kind of fun. I miss those days.
