The ‘Other’ Zoo

One of the benefits of having a zoo membership is the reciprocal benefits at other zoos. There is a great zoo located between where my parents live and us. They have so many different animals than we do at our zoo, which the kiddos love!

Of course, the kiddos aren’t always looking at the animals! See them above, climbing on the rocks instead of looking at…

Of course, there are lots of things to talk about when you go to the zoo in regards to the animals: their colors, what they eat, where they come from in the world, their size (alone and in comparison to other animals), whether their habitats are large and heavily ‘fortified’ or small and cage-like, along with lots of other things.
Then there are the fun things you find along the way. We all enjoyed a (rather skinny) tiger the kiddos could sit on. At this particular zoo they also have a little path the kiddos can explore impressed with various animals’ footprints, a goat and cow that they can ‘milk’ (really water) and a farm animal section, which my boys think is very cool!
We enjoy this zoo very much, and it’s super nice when the kiddos get grandparent time there, too!
