Home Ec 101

I don’t often do ‘official’ reviews on this blog, but I find that I’m endlessly trying to find easier ways to get things done around my house with two little guys running around, so I jumped at the opportunity to review Home Ec 101 by Heather Solos through One 2 One Network. I had visited her website, Home Ec 101 Skills for Everyday Living previously, and knew if this book was even slightly similar it would be very helpful! 

I was only sent Chapter 20, Meal Planning is Not Just For Control Freaks, and after reading it, I really want to go out and buy the book! Actually, if I had to pick from any one chapter in this book, I would have chosen this one as Hubby and I are trying to meal plan to lessen our resorting to eating out, an area we’ve been struggling with these past few months. This chapter was really encouraging!

The chapter was very easy to read, had a lot of helpful information written very concisely and simply, and was quick to read, too! (That’s a major plus when you’re chasing two under the age of four, or trying to get a little reading in after the kiddos are in bed but hoping you’ll stay awake long enough!) The chapter contained several sample weekly menu ideas and some recipes, too. I don’t know about you, but it’s so nice to have ideas laid out plain and simple to show exactly how it could work.

I can’t wait to read the rest of the book, although I am thankful to have received this chapter free to review, I am bummed I didn’t get the entire book! Go ahead and check it out! Whether you have been a homemaker for a while, or are just getting out on your own I’m sure there’ll be some ideas in Home Ec 101 that you’ll find helpful!
