His First instrument lesson

Cutie Pie came down Saturday morning while Hubby was practicing guitar and was immediately intrigued, as he always is when Hubby has his guitar out. Hubby usually lets the boys play it, but this time Cutie Pie was more interested than usual. He was all giddy and said “I’m ready for my bass lesson!” (To my kids, everything is a bass, even though when asked they say it’s a violin or other instrument correctly – must be because Hubby’s a string bass player and teaches bass lessons in our home.)

Cutie Pie hopped up on Hubby’s lap, wanted the guitar in front of him and the plectrum in his hand. Hubby is a music teacher, so he naturally loved that he wanted to play it ‘correctly’ rather than just standing in front of it and strumming it. Hubby asked if he wanted a lesson and Cutie Pie said yes. They sat there and had a mini lesson and Cutie Pie did great! He even sang a few songs for me while strumming along.

Hubby talked about instruments with him and Cutie Pie said he wants to learn how to play the bass. Since Hubby is a music teacher he’s going to look in to borrowing a few small instruments and let him try them. Cutie Pie is so excited!
