“What position is the Earth in now, Mommy”
I’ve been getting some big questions lately from Cutie Pie. Most of them I have no idea how to answer. In a way these questions frustrate me, however, I try to learn from them at the same time. In general I know it would be easy to get Cutie Pie proficient at playing games on the computer, but I tend to lean more toward using the computer as a learning tool.
When Cutie Pie asked about the earth we sat right down at the computer and looked up “Earth” and got some great results. We spent a lot of time at FlashEarth, where you can zoom in pretty close and peer at images photographed from space. Cutie Pie loved zooming in close to the different lakes, roads and even railroad tracks.
I’m not sure I’ll always have an answer to Cutie Pie’s questions, but I’ll always try to find an answer with him!

Good idea. My kids stay more involved finding stuff on the computer most of the time than playing games.
