Lately we’ve had the small table in the dinnette again, with crayons and paper within reach, after a short spell with it in the basement having made room for company at Cutie Pie’s birthday party. Sweet Pea has really taken an interest in it again. At least 2 or 3 times a day he stands at it or sits and colors. Sometimes he even spreads out his paper and a few crayons and lays down on the floor and colors. Cutie Pie can take it or leave it, but seems that Sweet Pea is definitely a taker!
We’ve seen Sweet Pea switch hands he uses for some tasks, like he’s not quite sure which is more comfortable. I’m told for a 2 year old (and actually all the way up to age 6) that this is quite normal. It seems, however, that whenever he holds a crayon or table utensil, it is almost always with his right hand. Another difference from Cutie Pie, who is most certainly a lefty! This is making me wonder if Sweet Pea likes to color and whatnot because we can more ‘easily’ do it with him and show him how, while it’s always been just a bit of a struggle to show Cutie Pie ‘correctly’. Either way, my two boys are perfect the way they are! I’m loving their individual creativity!
