Hidden Valley Animal Adventure Field Trip

My MOMs group play group visited this awesome place in August. Thought you’d like to see some pictures of animals you don’t often get to see up close! (and sorry this is a late post, I wrote it and it fell by the wayside…maybe the sun will be a good pick-me-up if you’re experiencing never-ending snow.)

Hidden Valley Animal Adventure, a little south of Batavia, NY, is well worth the trip! (By the way, this is not a paid advertisement or review, I’ve received no incentive from this park, and have in no way been compensated to write about this animal park. I am solely expressing my personal opinions and experiences.)

From their website:

Hidden Valley Animal Adventure “was started by Hans Boxler and  is family operated.  Hans has been a successful dairy farmer for over 60 years.  Take an adventure on the specially designed tour vehicles, where guests will view and feed over 30 different species….The purpose of Hidden Valley Animal Adventure is to provide education and entertainment.”

This is the Lodge, pretty impressive, isn’t it?!

When we reached The Lodge the kiddos were ready to run! After purchasing tickets for the adventure we headed to the small animal area to see the camel, burrow, wallaby and zebra. Even though we could not pet or feed these animals it was a great experience seeing these animals up close! (I’ve tried to include a lot of pics of the animals we saw, as many I’ve never seen before. I surely don’t remember the names of them all, so many are not labeled. Also, I know the ladies in playgroup gave me permission to post pics of their kiddos, but I’m trying not to as I don’t feel entirely right about it, so most of the pics are of the animals.) Sweet Pea (almost 2 at the time) actually fell asleep on the tram – it was right at his nap time. Cutie Pie (3 1/2 at the time) was very nervous around the horns, but sat in the middle of the tram and was fine with a great view of all the animals!

Burrow

After boarding the tram and passing through a gate and over a bridge, we were greeted by animals, some of which I have never seen before! I couldn’t ever have imagined being this close to these animals, being able to touch and feed them! It was a truly amazing experience!

They came right up to the tram to feed and you could hear their

Water Buffalo – the owner drove our tram and
got right out and went up and pet these guys. So cool!
