Hubby and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary on Sunday! I don’t want to sound cliche, but it has been the best 18 years of my life! We’ve been through everything since graduating from undergrad together and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
We married right out of college and moved a week later to another state where Hubby went to graduate school. We started out dirt poor. I was making $6 an hour and putting Hubby through grad school. We were happy, in love, and so naive! Our family became the friends that we made during those first three years of marriage living there. We had wonderful Christian marriage mentors and had what we feel is the best start to a marriage we could possibly have had. More importantly, we saw God at work in our lives during those years, bringing us through difficult times, moving us from state to state, and delivering us to the life we share now.
Fast forward 15 years. We have since moved twice and are currently living minutes away from Hubby’s parents and 2 hours away from my parents. We are very thankful for this as our two little guys are able to grow up having a personal relationship with all of their grandparents, something I didn’t have with my grandfathers and Hubby didn’t have as his grandparents all lived in different states.
Life sure has changed a lot these past 18 years. Hard lessons were learned. Wonderful memories were made. Gorgeous boys are being raised. A beautiful life together created.
