We Play!

It’s time to play at Childhood 101!

The weather has been really warm and sunny here lately, so we decided to pull out the pool! This has become a popular play area in the past few days. Cutie Pie absolutely loves getting in it and splashing others, but cannot stand it when he gets splashed. This has lead to a lot of discussions about how we treat others and what type of actions we expect from others. Of course, he is a 3 yr old and his brother is just an 18 month old, so the splashing doesn’t stop (and probably won’t even when they are older and in a real pool!) but we’re trying to reinforce positive behavior in the midst of that! There are also days I absolutely love to get splashed and others that I’d rather not get wet, but that’s another story!

We also bring lots of different toys into the pool – measuring cups, sifters, plastic trucks, funnels, plastic bottles, shovels – you name it they’ve tried it! It’s so interesting seeing what they come up with using sand toys in the water, or toy eating utensils or dinosaurs! Cutie Pie’s imagination really runs wild some days!

Looks like a lot of fun. We haven't pulled our pool out yet, but soon. The splashing doesn't stop here either!

Paddling pools are awesome. At the moment, it's freezing here so no swimming for us 🙁

We use our paddling pool everyday in the warm weather. Young children seem so drawn to water play 🙂
