Well, this post (and the next few, too) has been a long time coming…all of my photos get put on the computer upstairs and sometimes it takes me forever to get them in the proper state to put them up here.
We are a single-income family and with Hubby being a teacher, that means a tight single income, so instead of taking an actual vacation somewhere we tend to spend several days together as a family taking day trips. This summer was no different, and we got to go to a few fun places and so thought I’d share pics as I think they might be places you probably wouldn’t get to! Plus, I just like to show my family off! I mean, Sweet Pea is so cute!
Here we are having fun at a beach on Canandaigua Lake. It’s a nice public beach that’s kept very clean and, surprisingly, on this hot day it wasn’t overly crowded. My kiddos are used to pool swimming, so this was a huge adventure for them…plus they were surprised when their cousins arrived to play with us!

While on the beach the kiddos played in the sand and my guys learned that not all toys are for everyone’s use. They also learned that lifeguards have the last say (from watching others, of course) and that water safety always comes first. Most of all they learned that playing on the beach and swimming at a lake can be a lot of fun!
