Are stickers a fun item for your little one to decorate with? Often during the day Sweet Pea will ‘disappear’. He will suddenly get quiet, and while I can still hear Cutie Pie playing nicely in the other room Sweet Pea will have vanished. These are the times I peek around the corner of the dining room and see him standing at my stash of creative supplies with his hands on the sticker sheets or finding him plastering the room with stickers.
Hubby had the brilliant idea of taping a sheet of paper to the kitchen cupboard at floor height and handing Sweet Pea a sheet of stickers the other night while making dinner. It was so nice to have him having fun mastering his fine motor skills and coordination (peeling the stickers and actually sticking them on the paper not the cupboard) without me having to peel stickers off the floor after the kiddos went to bed! Why didn’t I think of this simple thing before?
Head over to We Play at Childhood 101 to see what other kiddos are up to.
Stickers are so great! My son loves to pick out a few and have me stick them to his hands. Then we see how long they last. We got construction paper recently too and had the idea of having him make a sticker page. We also used stickers to make a tambourine (on my We Play post).
Have a great Christmas.
Stickers are very popular here too. Princess has a whole tub of them for herself but still wants mine, and we can't go into a craft shop without her choosing more. She's gotten very good at mixing them up with drawings, such as using a tutu sticker and putting it on a drawing of a person, which brings a big smile to my face when I see it 🙂
Stickers are very popular at my house too. What a great way to keep him entertained!
A great idea 🙂 We hang paper on our sliding door as it is at child height and makes artwork easier.
I do have some trouble convincing my 5yo not to put stickers on the walls and doors and every other surface she can reach to decorate.
Stickers are brilliant – my 6y.o has always been obsessed with them. Once when she was a lot smaller she *covered* herself in them on a drive from melb-adel (and I mean her whole body (inside the undies and everything)) – I had to soak her in the bath to get them all off. She still can't walk past a sticky-tape dispenser without tearing off a strip (just to hold, you understand 🙂
Have a great Xmas
